Seat switch function?
Okay, now that I've gotten your guys' fantasic help on getting the seat out and wiring it, my question is about the function of the 2 four-way switches.
Right now, everything seems backwards, and also mis-matched.
Front switch UP: front goes down.
Front switch DOWN: front goes up.
Front switch FWD: seat reclines.
Front switch BACK: seat anti-reclines(?).
Back switch UP: back goes down.
Back switch DOWN: back goes up.
Back switch FWD: seat moves back.
Back switch BACK: seat move forward.
All in all, it looks like the whole assembly is upside-down. However, if I rotate it, the seat raise/lower switches will control the wrong side (i.e. front->back). On the other hand, if I rotate just the switches, recline will be the front switch, and fwd/back will be the back switch, which doesn't seem logical.
I'd assume the front switch controls fwd/back and the back switch does recline, right? I'm I gonna have to rewire this whole damn switch? <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" />

FYI: the driver seat works totally as expected: front switch does front raise/lower and seat fore/aft, rear switch does rear raise/lower and recline.
Also, I just tried, and the neither the switch nor the whole assembly can be rotated. I suppose I could reverse the power and ground, but that sounds risky. Even so, it wouldn't solve the fact that recline and front height are on the same switch, as is fore/aft and rear height.
Anybody?

Check nichols site. Did you unhook connectors under the seat? I'm sure I read that it is just a question of polarity and you can reverse it w/o any problem. The problem I ran into was not being able to find any connection under there. I had the seat unbolted and the switch ready to remove, but could not locate a connection under the seat. Haven't had a chance to go back at it again.

Got it all working. Took quite a while. I had to remove both switches, unthread all the wires through the seat, swap the switches, and then rethread the wires (twice for one of them, cause I missed the right opening). The actual connections were easy to make, it was just the fact that there's no way to swap switches without removing EVERY wire. Oh, and yes, the switches are identical, but the wires are soldered to the back instead of a socket, and the switch with the long connector for recline was in the front.
Ugh. At least it all works now...
PS. Steve, what connector were you looking for? The connector to power the seat? That's the only one I had (besides each individual spade terminal on the motors). It's mounted to a metal plate about in the middle and faces upwards.
