I had my oil cooler blow out last year and it foamed up pretty good in the overflow tank. A new radiator and a few flushes later it's finally out of the system. It's not hard, especially if you can find a used radiator.

Confirmed today: oil cooler blow out (not repairable). Will order a new cooler and also check the plugs and do the compression test. You never know...

Well, that's a bit of good news. Much less work and money than the head gasket job.

Yeah, hope I don't find any more faults with the engine. Today is a hot day here in Sweden, almost had 80 degrees F in the shadow, well at least for an hour or so. Guess it's hotter in Texas!

Of the failures it could have been, you have had the best ( and most probable) to easily correct.

A balmy 97 right now. I think if you want real heat you need to go to S AZ or central CA. Well into the 100s. And now, I need to go out and get under my truck to fix the cooling system. Oye, maybe I should relocate to Sweden.
