The ’83 is up on the jack stands as it goes through a thorough rehab. So here’s the question, what’s rebuild-able? I’m defining ‘rebuild-able’ as any sub-components that has a rebuild kit, or critical rebuild parts available (engines and trannys excluded… we’re talking sub components here). Right now, I have the following parts already sitting on the work bench pending a rebuild: all four calipers, both upper control arms, the steering rack and the power steering pump. I also have a spare torque tube that’s also ready for rebuild. What am I missing, anything?

Damn near everything can be rebuilt. Replace all of your hoses including:
Power steering
Cooling
Fuel
Oil cooler hoses can be rebuilt by a hose shop
Most of your hard line hoses will not be unless corroded ie fuel lines.
Rebuild kits for components like the power steering pump are available as is the power steering rack. ( you are better off buying one that has been rebuilt)
Do your motor mounts and pan gasket.
The Torque Tube has bearings, you will be better off shipping your old one to 928int to have it rebuilt, or use it as a core.
Calipers have kits to reseal them. Sounds like you are on your way to doing it correctly.

Tie rods, voltage regulator, rear wheel bearings, /\/\ what they mentioned also.
Have you considered new end tanks for the radiator? Shop placed new end tabs on the radiator too
Someone wrote up a nice one on doing maintenance on the electrics under the passenger footwell. Basically taking it out and cleaning all contacts had good results.

Good call on the pan gasket and motor mounts. And I'm definately looking into a fuel line kit as (coincidentally) I discovered an under-hood fuel leak when I ran it last week.
When I was a Chevy man we used to rebuild our alternators, distributors, etc. I’m trying to think of everything possible component that can be rebuilt (DIY) on this 928. The stork arrives shortly and when it does I’m going to have hours upon hours of watching over a sleeping infant. I’ll set the infant carrier on the work bench while the kid sleeps and rebuild 928 parts (too cold in the garage yet to have the child stay with me out there) which leaves the basement for subcomponent projects.
