which type of momo ****? There different types with different mounting methods. There's usually a tiny retaining hex screw/bolt at the bottom of the ****. If you're absolutely sure it's not there, do what I had to do for my 911: twist it out with channel locks. (use rubber jaws to prevent unecessary destruction). Again, that was my case for the 911...never had to do it on the 928.

Tarek, mine is the Satin aluminum S version. I couldn't spot a set screw, I'll look again.

If it is the Momo for and auto, you turn the bottom collar with soft jaw Pliers and then remove the set screw.

This is for a 5 spd. It has the black leather top half of the ball and tapered aluminum bottom half.

On mine, you unscrew the aluminum ring at the bottom and it exposes a couple of set screws.

Thanks Victor, I'll try that.

Hey Tupper Monkey, get your mind out of the sewer and back in the gutter.

Here's your answer. No need for vice grips!

Thanx guys. Worked like a charm.

The consensus on the threads I searched seemed to be to leave the tension springs out when installing a short shifter. Any other thoughts or experience?

If you're using one of the purpose built short shifters, there is no place for the springs. If you're using a modified factory shifter, I think you either need spacers or the springs.

Thanx, it's the purpose built.
