A while back there was a discussion about sound proofing and the product called Brown Bread was introduced. It comes in rolls that has sticky side, like tar, one one side and a thick foil on the other side.
It is designed to adhere to any metalic (clean) surface so... when I had my shocks replaced this week I had the mechanic cut and place this brown bread pices in the wheel wells, you just remove the thick waxed paper from the sticky side and place the pieces so that they cover the complete inside of the wheel wells, after each piece was installed a heat gun was applied and then each piece was hand pressed with a cloth to conform to all the curves.
After the Brown bread had been installed, you could see the foil side so we sprayed it black, if you don't spray it, it would look kind of strange.
After the shocks were installed and car was aligned I tried it for the first time today.
YES it does reduce a lot of road noise and I am very happy with the results, the cost of the Brown Bread was $89, that included shipping <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />

John, glad you are happy with the brown bread. I am still quite surprised how well it worked.
Not exactly sure where you put it that it shows. I put in on the back side of the wheel liners, under the back seats, doors, and behind the rear speakers.
