Reminds me of a cartoon I saw of a mechanics shop sign which read "Porsche work $50.00 /hr, Porsch-A work $100.00/hr."
It's all about the correct pronounciation of a German name in German. "Porsche" has become a name that is more identified as the car, although it's really someones name. How many times have we now heard news reporters take great care to pronounce the name of Hispanic, French and so on persons in that persons' native tongue? Sounds a bit affected to us Americans maybe, but that's how their names are said in their language.
Maybe Nicole can tell us how Porsche should be said?

If you see a Porsche TV commercial it is clear ...now Jaguar is another butchered word in "American" but that is another story.

If someone asks about my "porsch"...I tell them that I don't have a porch, only a sundeck.....
...and Jim is correct (after working with British engineers for several years)
I have been instructed to say..."Jag-u-ar".....

In German, "Porsche" is two syllables, but the e is barely audible and very short; sounds like a gutteral "shuh." Technically, then, both pronounciations are correct.
