I've purchashed the switch overlays from jageng. Work fine, but take your time putting them on. <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />
I have a 1987 928S4 Indeschrot/linen. I bought the decals because I have the type designation on the rear and thought it would look cool to fill in the indented cover. Well it seems that there is a change in size from the s to the s4, and I got the wrong size. I just gave up.
Bill, do have any pictures of your interior? Sounds like we might have the same Shark? Was just wondering how much is black ( like dash, etc.) and how much is linen.
I'm experimenting with the repurposing installation of a Cayenne Rear Hatch decal sticker(42 inches long) I got off ebay. I liked the ebay shop i purchased it from - KingCaviar. The sticker is approximately $55 each side and comes in lots of colors.
Installation provides for some margin of error for newbies. You prep the area with rubbing alcohol then place it on soapy water and then gently slide/adjust/rub out big bubbles. Come back after 1 hour to squeegee out obvious bubbles. Then return after several hours to squeegee out any remaining stubborn micro bubbles.
The look I'm striving for is that the silver metallic colored sticker makes an classic car look older and beast-ier. But given the size/boldness of the sticker, it also it turns heads of younger generations - many ask if my shark is a new model Porsche.
I haven't seen anyone put a Cayenne rear hatch sticker on the side of any classic Porsche so I feel its a distinctive look similar to what Singer does with their bold albeit smaller/shorter rear deck lid sticker.
In the context of what market prices dictate am I delusional or is the Porsche 928 a slam dunk classic that straddles modern looking cars especially with this sticker?
Trigger alert but "the 911 is the poor man's 928."
Just calling ***** and strikes in trying to be polarizing to pound the table on the 928 as the single biggest slam dunk in classic/vintage Porsches-lol.
My next cheesy thought is to add a set of $100 "floating" center caps on the wheels. Not to worry, I'm a purist at heart with my other 928s but for this one I'm exercising some creative freedom as most 928 owners are purists.
Any advice/criticisms/other ideas welcome.
