Default TX 928 guys, I am looking for a 928 in TX, any ideas?

Howdy everyone,

Not new to the Rennlist board, but new the 928 scene. I am looking at maybe getting a 928 or 968 and replacing my current track car (92 Miata). Anybody know of a 87-89 S4 in TX, miles not as important as mechanical condition. I know of the Venetian Blue in Lewisville, guy is asking $14,800. Seems a bit high. I meet the some of the 928 guys over by Lantana this past Saturday and Richard said the car was worth maybe $13K-$13.5K. Any other jems out there?

Thanks in advance!

your looking for a gem for less than $13,000?

One thing i will say is that you should stick with the 928 over the 968, only sissy's drive 4 cylinder cars. You dont want to be a girly man do you?

Perhaps our good friend Roger (Tyson) is willing to give up one of his 20 something units. I can't recall how many he said he has, but it's up there. He is near Dallas (I think) and he's a great guy to get to know. He operates a business called 928sRus and is a great resource for someone in TX who may need parts (and some service).

Wait a minute, who am I kidding. Asking him to give up one of his 928s may be like asking him to give up a kidney. He's a die hard like the rest of us 928 Rennlisters. You will be too once you own one.

I love that someone has 20 928's!

I cant wait to see the museum.

I'm curious, Roger, do you own vehicles that dont read "928"? Or is everything in the fleet a 928? The track car? 928, the grocery getter? 928, the kids first driver? 928, the wifes car? 928, the work truck? 928? The camper for road trips? 928

Hell why not. It could fill all those roles i guess.

to the OP, with a budget of $15,000 or even a little less you should be able to find a nice auto S4. You could probably wait around a long time and find one for much less then that.

Good luck

Rob, it was great talking with you this past Saturday. I'm sure Kim sent you a PM about her 86.5, which would make a great track car since it is lighter but with the same power as an S4. That is the platform some of us are looking at for the same reasons. Give Roger a call, he may have a line on some decent S4's if that is what your heart is set on.

Hi Ryan,
The number of cars I own is a lot less than 20 because a number of them are parts cars.
In reality I have 9 928 cars in my collection. GTS, S4, 86.5, Weissach, Jubilee, 80 S Euro,
80 Track car (Sean's), 79, 78.
We have a large family van, Mercedes E320 Wagon and a Turbo S Bug.

I know of some nice cars for sale locally so maybe I can help out.
Roger

Sounds like Rodger maybe needs to start his own counseling practice. Doing marriage counseling for families having 928 issues!

I can see him in that 4 PM slot competing with Dr. Phil for ratings. DR. Roger (aka Dr. 928), may be your calling?

Rob76 was nice meeting you. I also am a new owner, and that was the first time I met the group on Sat. Amazing how you instantly become one of the family. Great group of guys.... untill my interior or tool kit comes up missing!

Daymon,
Welcome to the group.
There are anumber of 928 owners in your neck of the woods so maybe you can hook up and have a local GTG.
That would be a good excuse for a road trip for the DFW group.
Once you have one you WILL want more - trust me I am an addict 8>)

Brad,
Marriage? what marriage - I remember now, I am married to my long suffering, wonderful wife, Zane.
Roger
