Smoking Engine Bay
I posted a topic here not too long ago about the same thing here. But I tried all the suggested things and nothing seems to be working here. I thought that the smog pump was froze so I took the belt off and found that the car still was smoking, I checked the timing belt nothing is wrong there, the belt is only about 10,000 miles at most old. The smoke comes from the left side of the engine behind the smog pump somewhere and comes out in large clouds. Smells like a burning belt or something. Is there anything else this could be. I have an 84S. The smoke starts almost right away not too bad but you can see it. I want to get this fixed the car has been sitting for almost two months now not running cause I am afraid of what might happen. Don't know what to do here and hoping someone can help any help is great so thanks ahead of time.

If it smells like a burning belt, your water pump may not be turning, bearing siezed. The pump is driven off the backside (smooth side) of the timing belt, the belt will slip and burn. If so don't run the engine as you don't have any coolent circulating.
