Mason,
I didn't know your car was on the road. Very cool. I'm looking forward to it.

Anthony,
Come on, lead the 928 contingent. We've got to represent out there!

Not sure what I am doing. I really should just stay and work. Work or fun drive hmm what a dilemma. I guess I will see what tomorrow brings.

Thanks Mike.... I've been driving it as a daily driver since I completed the service some months ago. it's the other 85 that is under the knife. i just got the head finished....Now I need to bolt on and buy all the components I robbed to tune up the other car. Probably $1200 worth of stuff....So I need some time. I can see keeping these cars forever. They are so unique and challenging, not to mention gorgeous and performance is just enough to satisfy See you tomorrow.

Cool getting her started!

looks like a good way to get rid of the cob webs indeed. Do we have an idea of how long the drive will go on for. Where do we end up? thanks

Check out the link to the original thread. I think it says we'll end about 10:30 or 11:00, I'm not sure where .

Lambertville, 201 S. Main St. is the end point. As Mike said,k we'll be done somewhere between 10:30 and 11, depending on how long we spend at the mid-point.

Well, we had a great turnout today - 65 cars showed up at Lambertville this morning. We the exception of a small group we managed to keep everyone together. I was quite impressed to lose to few cars out of such a large group.

We had some fantastic cars show up and it was great to see everyone - the good weather brought out a nice array of convertibles and garage queens alike.

Thanks to all those who joined us from Long Island and Manhattan - it was great to have you with us - it always amazes me that you guys drive 3 hours to get to us, but we're glad that you do!

A big thank you to everyone who participated - I'll make a big plea - if you took photographs, please please please - I'd appreciate it if you could send copies to me for use on a website compilation of photos from the event. I'll also assemble a collage for use in our local PCA monthly magazine when I get around to writing up the review of the event. PM me and I'll give you an email address to send the photos to.

Please check out the thread in the 996 forum (link in my sig) to see some photos that I posted from today - more to follow as people send them to me (hint hint!)

Thanks again and I hope to see you all again soon!

I had a great time too. There were three 928s that left from Lambertville, then Mason joined us at the lake (what lake? I have no idea, I just followed Anthony like a lost puppy ). We had a small contingent : 2-85s, 1-nice 88 (Kieren, are you out there?) and Anthony's saweet GTS.

Anthony and I got separated from the pack at one point when a police cruiser decided to tag along for a few turns at the end of the line. By the time he got bored with us going so much below the speed limit we'd lost the rest of the group. We had a great little run there for a while though. I think at one point Anthony thought I was going to do a Dukes of Hazzard pass on him. He broke for a one lane bridge and then as he went over it I thought I was going to launch over him too. The GTS goes really fast, and it stops fast too .

I think I held my own carrying the early 32v banner and we had a great time. The weather couldn't have been nicer.

When we got to the lake the group was already assembled for the picture and we had to cruise through the mock applause. It was fun.

I'll post the few pics I've got.

It was good to see so many speed junkies.....They were really moving. Since I drive my 928 daily, I haven't really been pushing the limit too far past the "safe" zone. My suspension needs some attention.... After that, I will feel better when I come out to play! It was hard to keep my 928 planted on the sweeping lefts....bad struts all around, but I did what I could. The LAKE is Nockamixon....... It's a great park too if you like to hike or rock climb/repel.

Mike it was good to see you, and your car looks great, I loved the subwoofer enclosure and the wood panels. See you on the next one.

Yes it was nice and I enjoyed the little free time we had to play without the train of cars. Although getting lost was a bit frustrating. You car moves along nicely, although I heard a little threshold braking a few times. The Big blacks barely take a tap to scrub off speed quickly. Yeah that bridge was a potential launch pad for sure. I saw it at the last moment and thought it would be smart to slow down for. I sometimes forget how much more braking power these newer cars have. Just shows you that no matter what vintage 928 they are all very capable cars. My friend Nelson as a passenger was a bit skeptical of the 928 at first but after the day was over he was quite impressed.

Great day for a drive.

I loved seeing so many 928s show up - I love your cars and you held your own with the newer cars. Glad that you guys had fun. Lake Nockamixin is one of my favorite places to go and play. it's a really nice place to hang out.

Unfortunately, the group was a little on the large side this time. It's tough to keep everyone together when the caravan gets that big. I've been trying to find a second group leader for a while, but have been having a problem dong so. If the next run is as big we might have to consider limiting the number of participants and maybe doing a pre-registration. I'd hate to do that, but we might have to consider doing so to ensure that everyone enjoys the ride and doesn't get lost.
