Nissan's goal for the newly then designed 300ZX in 1990 was the Porsche 928S4 they infact tracked the car in Germany against the 928S4 before it release then and cranked out a huge press release about its performance (damn I wish I could find that old article). Most of the body design was a complete rip off too. Now appears the 350Z with all the features that the 928S4 had (in the 350zTrack)...what a huge friggin rip off.

And please spare me the nice words on the 350Z its a PIECE of CRAP! Take it from an owner that can't get his sold as it sits on the lot of the Ferrrari dealership on consignment here in Portland, Oregon. For 40,000 I would rather have a nice 993 or 928GTS for the same money.

From the manufacturers:

350Z: 287hp/274lb-ft; 3225 lbs (track edition)
928S: 288hp/302lb-ft; 3351 lbs (US '85-86 S)

and track them.</strong><hr></blockquote>

By the way Curt that weight on the Track edition is not accurate. Nissan never releaseed the actual weight on the track edition until it arrived at my doorstep and it is a stout 3450 after the brakes and few other additions. The deletions were simply pitiful i.e the Bose Stereo System was down graded to one without a subwhoofer and subsequently I have heard better steos in "Ford Pinto's and Chevy Chevettes!"

3200lbs is the weight of the basic non-optioned 350Z. The track car weights considerably more.
