Low coolant switch question
Is it simply a continuity type thing or more of a resistor?
How to explain this in English? It is a touch-less switch, if you imagine you have a magnet in the floater, when this magnet comes close to the switch it close - I.e that's a on/off switch - You simply test it with a Ohm-meter and move the floater up and down.
Ps. Have in mind after 84 Euro model (I do not know when for the American models) there's also a pressure sensor installed parallel with the level sensor (placed in front of the water reservoir) I.e if you have warning for cooling water level, it can also be due to a faulty/weak pressure sensor - This is easy to test, simply try to remove the connector from the switch.
I had to order a new expansion tank because of hairline cracks. I hope I don't have to replace the $60 coolant switch as well! Time to get out the multitester.
