Would you believe a little orange washer? How about puce? pink?
Oi made a little arrow on me monitor pointin' to the washer Oi means. See it?
The injector kit for my 91 consists of both O rings, pintle caps and the orange washer that the bottom metal gizmo in the picture is pointing to. Mind you, MY injectors have cream yellow plastic tops, not that tacky blue color! Mine are OBVIOUSLY much superior and MAY have different replaceables.
The kits are about $5.00 each and all replaceables, including the filters, were replaced by by Rick at Cruzin when I has them balanced.

If you are going to replace the O rings, I would recommend NOT removing the caps but rather cut the O rings off with a razor blade and lube up the new O rings and roll them on over the caps.
I have seen the new caps that come in the kits fall off the injectors!!....not a good thing.
Just my .02.

Mine snapped on with a fair amount of force when I replaced them. I did one set myself and had another set done at Cruzin. He replaced them also.

GT, yes those are 24lbs Ford Motor sport injectors (bosch style) F1TE-D5A. You can get them in a 19lbs version as well.

So far not so well. All off on the driver side, but one of the connector caps to the injector cracked off a piece when remove the retaining spring (not fatal as it will go back and lock on, but still not a happy thing.) Demonic design!

The rubber caps covering the wires leading to the connectors are dry, brittle and breaking where they have been bent over the years. I am very concerned about this and can't see any easy repair other than replacing the entier harness. Is this possible?

You could make your own harness or you can contact the big 3, they should be able to order you a new factory harness or you could give Painless Performance Wiring a call to see what they can do for you if getting a new harness is not possible.

Jackson, Don't despair. I had a minor mishap myself during my last project. You're right, those things are very brittle but can be repaired. I ordered a set from eagleday.com They have the connectors, rubber boots and the pins. They actually send you an extra pin with each kit in case you mess up the crimping on one....like I did. You'll notice the boot is filled with an epoxy material. Don't cut the wires at the top, break the potting material until you get to the connector and then cut. This will give you a very close cut to the pin and keep the length as close to the original as possible. I'm not sure if there is a polarity but simply put the wires on the pin hole they came from. Piece of cake!
