Default S/C IN AND IT IS SURGING

I got the S/C installed and besides a weird lean condition at idle that corrected it's self the car is surging. At low speed it surges not unusual for the 928 but under acceleration the motor is surging, not a lot but you can feel it, A/F seems ok. What should I start with, Fuel pressure or what else to look for.
Car Idles smooth and vacuum shows almost 20 Lbs.

I had the same problem or a similar one after installing my SC. Pull the 1st hose off coming out of the SC and look for oil. My SC leaked oil and would run fine sitting still and under hard accerlation but when just driving in 2nd holding it about 3K rpm it would surge and feel like a miss. If it is leaking oil you will need to remove the SC and send it back to Vortec, it was a leaking seal.

I just changed the Lh chip and see if that makes any difference.

Remember that it takes the car about 10 minutes to "re-learn" after a battery disconnect. It will likely hunt around for a little bit and then settle down.

I maybe wrong but I don't think that applies to 85-86.

Yeah... you might be right on that. I forget that's a LH 2.2 not a 2.3, similar, but not the same.

If A/F is staying relatively constant and you can still feel it, ignition timing is moving around. Maybe it's detecting knock and pulling spark? Not sure if your ECU has the function.

Still no change after changing Lh chip, I'm tempted to put the Auto-Authority chips back in and see what happens.

My magic 8-ball said no to that idea.

no expert here, but recheck all hose connecitons for a leak. They may appear and feel sealed at idle, but could be creeping off a bit under boost. Gotta make sure everything is sealed.

Good luck!

The AA chips won't hurt at idle, but I wouldn't take it out for any serious runs.

I agree, sounds like a leak somewhere... hopefully it's as simple as tracking it down.
