Plastic Piece between Fog light and turn signal light
I see that many S4, GT, GTS have a different small plastic piece between the fog lights and turn signal light.
I see many of the same models with a white plastic piece with one screw holding it in place and many with a black piece and two screws. Is this specific to any particular models, Years or US vs. ROW?
I am trying to replace my black piece with clear plastic but unfortunately the clear one is different.
Thanks in Advance.
The first picture actually shows a GTS with the black plastic piece.
This second picture shows a 90 GT without it.

black filler - US
clear filler - euro
do you have the clear fillers now? if not, order them from Jacquemond, along with the clear turn lenses.
under the US black filler is a black support bracket held in by two of the foglight bolts. [on my car at least] i have to remove that black bracket to get the clear fillers on, which requires removing the bumper cover.
if anyone has the clear fillers on without removing the bracket, i'd like to know...

Jerry,
The metal under the black cap is (as far as I have been told) a bumper extension - in order to meet US collison requirements.
You also have two ugly black objects at the rear of your car for exactly the same reason - which the European cars don't have.
I've just removed the very same (front) brackets on my GTS (sorry - I can't se any other way of doing it but to remove the bumper cover).
It looks as if they're designed to transmit some of the impact energy of a (low speed) collision/fender bender to the massive aluminum beam hidden behind the front end. I seem to recall that there are also two 'shock absorbers' in there somewhere.
At the back, it's not so simple as the black 'bumper covers' actually penetrates the body of the car - I wasted time taking them off just to find gaping holes. (Well, maybe I'll patch them up sometime if I get around to a full repaint of the car...)
Dave, my compliments on your front end - really nice, wide pice.
I assume it's a one-piece assembly from Jacquemond with front end and fenders all-in-one??

I am getting them from Olivier. Let me make sure I understand. I remove the bumper cover and then remove the extension. This will allow the small clear lens to fit? I have asked Olivier with help on this and he might be making a small plastic piece that exactly replaces the Ugly black piece.
Here are a couple of pictures.
So I remove the (red) piece of metal?

Just for curiosity: Would the US black piece work in combination with Olivier Jacquemond's clear truns signal lenses, or is the changeover to the clear piece required?

The turn signal cover is Olivier's clear lens. Attached is a picture with the black piece in place.
I think the clear lens does nothing for the look unless you replace the black plastic piece also.
I thought I was getting a replacement but he was not aware of the difference in the US models evidently.

Michael,
that's not my car, it's Fred's ( sorry, don't know his last name ) and that's a real Koenig 928, not a Jacquemond kit.
Jerry,
yes the red piece ( it's black on my silver car ) that the black rubber filler piece mounts to. it's held to the bumper by the two outboard driving/fog mounting bolts and a couple of pop rivets to the plastic.
Nicole,
the clear turn lenses work fine with the US black fillers. plug and play. though to be legal you need to replace the clear bulbs with colored bulbs, so they still show yellow/amber when on...

Could have changed, but the last time that I checked the turn signal requirements, any color in the range from white to amber was acceptable in the front, and any color in the range from amber to red was acceptable in the rear.

Jessa, you know I put neon yellow bulbs in mine - thought it was the proper thing to do. I saw the blue bulbs, wonder how that would look <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />
