Mike,
I send out the tutorial when asked or I think it may help.
Its been sent all over the World - currently being digested in Australia where I have started to sell some fuel kits. They had a fire scare which woke a few members up.
Thanks agin for preparing the tutorial.
Roger

Thanks to Roger for sponsoring the Atlanta Dyno Day. I won the kit last Saturday, so I printed out this thread and attacked it this morning. Everything went fine, other than removing the MAF. Whoever installed it last, put the screw for the clamp in such a way it was nearly inaccessible.
I had to call Roger when I was about done with everything I could find. There was a good length of hose left, and a bunch of hose clamps. Seems there's some variation from year to year, so I have some leftover. The only hose I didn't change was the one on the passenger (US) side, closest to the front. Roger said he hasn't seen many in bad shape, and mine wasn't cracked like the hoses in the back of the motor. Must be less heat up there.
While I was in there, I threw in some new plugs, air filter, cleaned the MAF w/ some of the CRC stuff, and took the car for a spin. Nothing but smiles!
Thanks to Roger, who took my call on a Saturday morning, and put some of my fears to rest.

I've got a little write-up, too. Explains how to re-use old connections.

When I do them I just use a hack saw around the edge, all the way around and they pull off easy.
I'll get some pics next time I do it.

Another save ...Thank you all !!
Sorry to resurrect this thread but I thought I would add my experience. My 88 S4 didn't look like a candidate for bad fuel lines. Topically they looked ok, even the "U" bend line. I am a believer now!
Well 1-2 feet of snow here in Seattle somehow inspired me to get to it with the kit I received from Roger yesterday. I took my time, read and re-read Mike's excellent write up. The lines came out easily enough.
I expected to see issues in the short radius line connecting the drv/pass fuel rails but only saw a few minute cracks. Still warrented replacement since it's 20 years old. Then I looked at the fuel return line to the fuel cooler (Yikes!).
Here are a few pic's. Again thanks for previous write ups and discussion. It really helps novices like me.
Happy holidays!
