Happy Monday gang - got your taxes in the mail yet?
Perhaps someone can help me on this:
On my '79, the little red light located below the 'E' on the fuel gauge does not illuminate when I turn the key to the first position, nor when I'm down to the reserve level in the tank (2 gallons remaining). However, the central warning light DOES come on when I'm low on fuel, indicating that a low-fuel signal is present.
When I last had my instrument pod out I didn't see a bulb in the fuel gauge that was changeable - it appears to be an LED.
Any advice on what I can do to get that low-fuel light to light up again?
Thanks.

Two most likely problems are bad connection going to the light in the gauge, and a bad bulb. It is one of those dinkly little bulbs, not an LED.

Thanks James - it didn't look like the typical replaceable dash light bulb.
Wally - can I get one of these from 928 Specialists?

Randy,
Not a smart-a** answer - You can any part available from Porsche for a 928 from 928 Specialists, plus many OEM and aftermarket parts and accessories.
We don't have a catalog, because David wants to make 928 parts as affordable as possible. In fact, I suspect that the two most expensive "advertising" things that we do are RennList sponsorship and Sharks in the Mountains.
Again, my suggestion is to spend a couple of days with a pad and pencil nearby, writing down any small parts that you might need - Ordering one little light bulb is OK with Jeannie, but I think that the minimum UPS charge is $4 or $5 - makes it a pretty expensive bulb!
BTW - Jeannie can almost always think of something that you need!

yep, keep a running list of the "i need to fix/replace that someday" items. then when you order a light bulb you can tack on the extra stuff so you don't pay more for shipping than the item you wanted...
then after you call it's "damn, i forgot..." <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" />
