Oil pressure reading
When I picked up my shark from the po a few months ago I saw the oil guage would peg when the engine was started ..I asked him and was told that it always does that...I read a few weeks ago in a post that if the wires are reversed it will cause the gauge to peg ..I also read that the inside of the sender gets gummed up and will also cause the same thing ...Someone had GREAT pictures and step by step directions on taking the sender apart and cleaning it...I thought that mine MUST be dirty so today I was prepared to take it apart and clean it up...First I thought what the heck I will try switching the wires and sure enough it NOW works like it should ...I have seen others with the same question..I just wanted to let everyone know if your gauge IS pinned ALL the time when the engine is running, reverse the wires before cleaning the sender..I will still at some point, take the sender apart for cleaning but it sure is nice to see the gauge move when I rev that sweet sounding engine ...

FWIW, when I bought my car a year ago the oil temp gauge ran continuously off the scale, (5 bars+)at any engine speed above idle. Moreover it parks at the high end of the scale even with the engine off and indeed even with the battery disconnected!
To correct it cheaply I resorted to removing the instrument cluster, pulling the gauge needle off it's shaft and repositioning it. It now runs 2.5bar at fully warmed up idle and 5bar at high revs. Engine off it sits at zero but it still parks at 5+ with the ignition key out. Wierd. Any ideas anyone?
