the early 3 speed 22.01 , 22.02 , 22.04 used a 12/33 ring and pinion for a ratio of 2.75 to one driven by a 2.306 first gear or a 6.34 to the axle ...The USA 1983 4 speed used a 15/33 ring and pinion for a ratio of 2.20 BUT BIG BUT the 4 speed first gear is a 3.676 for a ratio to the axle of ........... 8.0872 !! The better to spin tires with !

So, uh, that there 4-speed is like havin' a 20% overdrive with the 2.20, versus the 2.75?
