First off, I don't want to hear any jokes about this.
Has anyone ever had a seatbelt reworked, custom made or extended ? If my seat is back, then I can latch the belt. When I have the seat in a better position for me, I can't latch the belt (insert joke here...). Aside from not frequenting Taco Bell or Krispy Kreme as often, is there something I can (insert joke here...) do ?
I may be big, but even big people own 928s.

I wouldn't dare make a joke unless I knew where you REALLY lived, and how fast you were!
Don't know much on the subject, as I was blessed w/ the metabolism of a blast furnace, but what about those extender straps they used on airlines (at least in Europe) to snap kids into parents laps? Those were just a 24?" web w/ male/female ends & an adjuster. For you, it sounds that you don't need much length, a short piece w/o adjustment which extends from the existing male end, run across to the plug. Should be able to have one made for not much, and even move it to another mode of transport, not have to mess w/ the 928 stock fittings. Can't see that the shoulder strap geometry would change much.

I haven't looked at how the belts actually are mounted, but if they are like most belts they simply bolt to the body/frame. If so then it may be possible to get a piece of 2"x8"x3/16" steel with 2 holes in it to act as an extender. You would bolt one end to the body/frame and then bolt the seat belt to the other end. It would also likely have to be bent to fit properly.
I have to say that this is not something I would recommend doing. But any competent machine shop should have no trouble with it.

I'll bet that if you contacted some of the aftermarket seatbelt providers [go to Barnes & Noble and look in the back of "Excellence" magazine] they could probably make one for you, if they don't have one already.
Another idea is to get a Schroth 4 or 5 point harness from one of the aftermarket suppliers. It would fit much better, be safer, and would look cool to boot.

i wouldn't tell them what it's for. they prob'ly wouldn't want the liability...
