Throttle return spring
I may be way off here, but now I have time to think about more trivial issues, it seems to me the throttle return spring loading is pretty heavy, especially comapred to the Japanese and GM others I drive at times. Anybody else have any impressions here? Where would I look to change this - throttle plate itslef, the pedal, the auto cable?

Don't know about the Euro models...
But on the S4 models there are actually 2 springs. Removal of the larger outer spring provides a much more 'blippy' throttle. You may have to endure some inspection/disassembly to confirm or deny that this is a feature on the Euro model.
DISCLAIMER: Altering the throttle return characteristics is at on'es own risk!!!

There are 2 springs on the throttle body.
I considered removing one, but with all the old cables attached (auto trans, cruise, gas pedal), I decided against it.
I did however do this on my girlfriends SAAB; there were 3 springs on the throttle body; I removed one with no problems
