Default Save gas with A.F.P. regulator???

Hey guys, this might be a silly question but here goes. Is there an A.F.P.R that allows you dial in less fuel as well as more? If so is there any risks associated with driving lean for stop and go traffic? Is this something you could do effectively and simply without needing custom fuel mapping? No long winded replies necessary, I'm just curious...

Yes, the AFPR that 928 SP offers can be adjusted to a lower than stock fuel pressure.

Running too lean causes high combustion chamber heat which results in burnt valves and or pistons. The instructions with the AFPR advise using a dyno for tuning; a DVM can also be used.

The primary "adjustment" is the accelerator pedal. The S-4 stock runs quite lean and clean if it is running right. MPG has more to do with how you drive , keeping the tires aired up , and anticipating stops , not down shifting etc. etc.

It would be much smarter to do it with the computer. One of the 951 guys has cruise maps set at 16-18:1. You could run two sets of maps in the LH with a solid state relay to switch from cruise to standard maps when load (MAF) goes above a certain level.

...it's more work than it's worth. Just keep the car tuned correctly and keep your foot off the loud pedal as Jim recommends.

Dammit Jim, I'm a Doctor not a- Oh nevermind. The accelerator pedal huh? Yeah the thought had occurred to me, but as I'm sure you all have deduced by now I suffer from a severe self-control deficiency and OCD. Sometimes irrational solutions are better. I can't have light switches or door locks in my house because I'd never make it out the front door if I did.
