Default Will 944 Club Sport Wheels fit the 928S4?

I'm working on my wife to agree w/me that I MUST HAVE a new set of wheels for my 968 (this usually means buying her something of the same value, in a sense, making my purchase double the overal cost. It's an argument I can't disagree with).

Does anyone know if 1989 944 Club Sport Turbo wheels will fit the 928? If so, would they require spacers? I'm not positive but I think they're 7J x 16 and 9J x 16 wheels. Is this narrower than stock?

Anyone have a photo of how they look on the 928?

Can I get wider tires with a different wheel w/o widening the fenders? Any comments appreciated.

Thanks,

Harvey

Harvey, I would consider getting a newer set of 18 in wheels instead of the old school 16s. This newer (18 in)tire size will give you more tire selections, and the bigger wheels look better on the 928. Try Ebay they usually have 2005 wheels with tires for about 1500 to 1800. Thats my 2 cents, Stan

Mr Merlin,

Good thought. A great condition set of club sport wheels would run about $1200-$1500. I like the Club Sport design though. I'll keep my eyes open. Thanks.

Are you aware that the S (and S4?) wheels are almost the same design as the CS wheel, the only visible difference is that more meat is removed from the CS wheel. There even is reinforcements matching the CS cutout. I think someone on this list has converted some S/S4 wheels to CS style. Try a search and see!
