Post Pre-fixes

I've been thinking of beefing a few things up to prevent trouble later on:

1) AC Relay - Why not put a slave relay in the engine compartment? Run a fused 10g wire from the jumpstart post to a foglight relay controlled by Mr. Wimpy in the dash?

2) LH Brain - Some sort of power protection. DC to DC converter? Zener + resistor for overvoltage protection?

3) Underhood electrical fire protection - ABS fuse or circuit breaker? Check troublesome battery cables?

Any other ideas?

-Joel.

Sounds like your on the right track! If you do it make sure you take lots of pictures.

I'm adding a few new ground wires to mine as we speak (as well as cleaning the old ones). The Porsche engineers likes to run longer ground wires than I do

Congrats on the buy! When will you be driving it to Texas?

You might check into an Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) in place of the Zener. An MOV is designed for high energy absorption.
