For Sale: 5-Speed w/ LSD Tranny- MY79 G28-03 (Price Reduced)
MY 79 (G28-03) 5 speed tranny with LSD for sale:
The price: $650 OBO, plus shipping
The particulars:
- Good candidate for a re-build
- Approx 106K miles
- Shifts good except for 1st gear. 1st gear syncro is shot, I used to have to be near a complete stop before downshifting into 1st.
- 1st/Reverse idler noise. Small "chick...chick" sound was evident when in first and moving slowly. This is a wear item and re-shimming required.
- Wear on reverse gear evident.
- Some noise from input bearing. I used to mistake this for torque tube noise. Kinda of a "shhhh" sound when in neutral clutch out.
- Shift selector springs a bit weak as expected.
