993TT Rear Brakes
Just finished a conversion to 993TT rear brakes on my GTS. Got all my parts from Roger at 928s-r-us. He knows exactly what you need. This conversion takes you from 112 sq. cm. to 250 sq. cm. of swept area on the rears. I haven't seated the pads in yet so I have no feel for braking improvements. It does improve the looks, especially with the new wheels. The old calipers and rotors looked so small in there.
This is/was more of a want rather than a need. The GTS brakes are good right out of the box.
I've owned a 928 since 1995 and there were always three changes I always wanted to make to both the 89 and now the 93, the rear seat delete, the slim line third brake light and now lastly the big brakes on the rear. Now I've done all three, what's next? It's turning into a slippery slope. Time to find a new hobby!

Looking great Jim,
Time to do a low PSI supercharger, or do that stroker.

Is a dustshield even necessary? Does it have much to do with brake cooling on the rear???
Looks much better, I have seemingly small (GTS) brakes on the rear and they look undersized with an 18" wheel.

So basically you have Big Reds on the back now......very nice!
But I gotta ask...other than for looks.....why? I want to say most of the 928 racers run stock S4 rear brakes with monster 14" up front?

The machining of the calipers was done by MotorSports SLC - Thanks to Dave and Garrity.

Looks great ...a triumph of form over function... but do address the proportioning value issue because it is way out of balance now...

It's OK Jim, he has ABS. And if that isn't enough, a hard stab at the pedal will make those the front brakes anyway.
One of the things that grabbed my attention early in my 928 stewardship period was how nicely the S4 front brakes filled the wheels. 17" wheels made them look smaller, and you folks with 18 and 19 inch wheels really need big rotors in there even if it's just for appearance. It's not like the S4 brakes won't stop the car at least once or twice in street conditions. Those do come closer to filling the rear wheels nicely.
