Different shock absorber between front and rear
I ordered a full set (4) of Boge shock absorbers before Christmas. I got the front ones but rear shocks were BO. I received those yesterday but instead of Boge's, I got Koni's but at the same price
Can I mix the front Boge with rear Koni's ??

It is usually an issue of preference: if the front Boge's are still in the box, my preference would be to negotiate an exchange for Konis.

Keeping more valuable parts than you paid for is ..... ??? I am quite sure that if you ordered and paid for Koni shocks but were sent Boge you would have been on the phone DEMANDING that you were being cheated. Just for the record we do NOT SELL KONI shocks . If the clerk at the corner store hands you back change for a $20 and you know you gave her a $10 ... do you smile and walk away knowing that at the end of the day SHE makes up for any shortages ? We occasionally make a mistake and send out an additional parts (short someone else) and I do appreciate it when the customer who got the "bonus" calls and tells me about it. That also helps me figure out who got shorted because they will be calling . So end of lecture on ethics. Bilsteins are BETTER !! in my opnion.

I would go for the Bilstiens, and as always do the right thing while no one is looking

Thanks for the lecture and I am 100% with you on that. The seller is aware of the mistake. The price difference between rear Boge and Koni's sets is around 90$ so with the cost to ship them back and ship the Boge when available, they decided to "give" me the Koni's ( I need to say that I am buying quite a bit from them)
The front Boge are already installed. So my question was more if there a + to install the Koni instead of the Boge or it is out of the question to mix them.

Before slamming Luc about unduly profiting at his suppliers expense, I would wait for the rest of the story.
Now Luc, if you prove me wrong for looking at the flip side of this, I'm obliged to come to Quebec to kick some a$$ ... just in case I have to book a flight, when does Le Carnaval start?

The standard Koni shock is ONLY adjustable for rebound rate the compression rate is fixed. Carl sells a long allen tool so you can make rebound adjustments on the car. there is no problem using different shocks front to rear but the Koni will be much firmer feeling when you hit expansion joints in the road (no adjustment for compression) . The original post was not clear that the vendor gave you the more expensive shocks and I can not imagine when or why Boge shocks would be on back order since they are the stock replacement part ??

They seems available in the States but not in Canada I rechecked yesterday with three different parts dealers, no rear Boge's available (no rear bilstein either). 1-2 weeks wait. They told me the same thing a couple of weeks ago.
