Voltage
While I'm at it...
When I first start the car it does not appear to charge (atleast not fully charge.)
After a few minutes the amper gauge drops down towards 10. If I blip the throttle above 2400 or so RPM's it JUMPS back to life and charges normally (mine stays about 13.5).
Is this a voltage regulator problem or maybe a dreaded ground somewhere?
Thanks,
Pappy

Pappy,
What you describe typically happens after an alternator replacement. You need to change the resistor in the back of the pod. Call 928 International, they will know exactly what the problem is and send you the correct resistor, cost about $1.

Is it the resistor or the bulb that turns on the alternator. I have read all the posts. They seem to have different conclusions. When I called 928 INT, they said it was only the bulb. Which is it??? Some sort of resistor or a bulb????
For what it's worth, 928 Spec. told me that if you had one of the French alternatatorss (Paris-Rhone, Marshal, or Valeo) and you replace it with a Bosch, the resister which is in parrellel with the bulb I'm told, needs to be changed.
That's why I chose to have the Valeo in my car rebuilt for 78 bucks instead of paying 250 for another and pull the pod along with everything else to change the alt. - Ruf
