Post UPDATE: shark's back from the body shop

You may remember me posting a few weeks ago that an F-150 with an unlicensed driver backed into my 85S causing a fist-sized dent in the front passenger side fender that exposed bare metal.

After about 2.5 weeks, I've got my shark back and it looks puuurrrrdy. Looks brand new to me. I trusted the body shop (Autometric Collision) to live up to its reputation and it did. I'll try to get my hands on a digital camera to post some pics soon. You free anytime soon Dozman?

While they were at it, I had them fix the scratches in the sunroof caused before it was aligned properly and the dull driver's side headlight cover. Again, a fantastic job.

A number of P-car owners in the area sang the praises of this shop and now I've joined their ranks. Insurance covered it all except for the elective work done to the roof and light cover which cost $150. Their main office is wallpapered with letters from satisfied customers (not an overstatement).

They fought it out with Progressive Insurance to get the funding for the correct job which ended up being about $1550. I did make a trip over before they had re-assembled everything and now understand why they spent so much time....the bumper cover, wheel well covers, spoiler, air ducts, alternator hose, and various pieces parts all came off and were put back on looking brand new. They only new part needed was a bumper seal.

I saw the bumper (it was chipped) which was stripped bare before repainting. I stared at it and was totally surpised when they told me it wasn't new. Very impressive.

I'm driving my shark all over the place now to make up for the withdrawal I had experienced. I am, however, quite nervous about every car that comes anywhere near me. A normal reaction I assume.

Dave, Glad it worked out for you. Having the shop argue with the insurance guy was the right tactic.

The guy who hit me was covered by commercial insurance and his boss did not want a stink. They covered the original quote and we did not need any more. Best part was avoiding the deductable...

I can relate to being gun shy about other vehicles near your 928 now. Since Gretch was released from the repair shop, I have been overly protective. She has been a gararge queen lately.

She is getting a RMB refit this weekend. Got one from one of the big 3. BIG stainless pipes....

Any way, I am happy for you, I bet you feel great about getting your shark back. I know I did.
