"Barn Find" 928s
I was reading where someone predicted the 928 would someday be a desirable "barn find." I know it's a bit early to talk about 928s and barn finds....but with all the low mile 928s that seem to be cropping up, some must have been stored somewhere and "discovered" or feretted out by someone.
I suspect that more than a few 928 owners found a car that had been sitting in a garage several years, a warehouse, under a tarp behind a house, a field, and (perhaps) even a barn.
I've found several older american cars that had been parked and neglected or forgotten but I've never found a P-car that way. Have any of you "discovered" and put a 928 on the road again that had been out of order for an extended period of time?

Zilla-Man.....
It goes the deal of being an OB, US spec 16V/auto. Had it been a Euro or an S4 or newer, it wouldn't be there........
body is straight, no tires/wheels, interior needs redone......probably parked due to TB failure.
You know the score-

Assuming you can get that car for basically the cost of title and towing....I'm sure you could part it out and make a few bucks....assuming you have the room and time?

In order to be a barn find the value after rescuing it and restoring it must exceed the cost of doing it. As long as you can buy good running decent looking cars for very little money what is the point ? When 356s hit $50,000- $100,000 people got all excited when they found one for $5,000- 10,000 that they could spend $25,000 to $50,000 restoring.

Maybe.....I suppose I could park in the back yard with the rest of my boneyard stuff......
There are rebuild-ers closer to me here, though......
The real problem is my Labradors are pretty pissed about me parking the car hauler next to their pen...like it's some big monster taking up their space. Another 928 won't sit well with them.....and no more room the driveway. Tahoe and dually on one side, Deb's Caddy on the other side, my Euro in the garage, and My Peterbilt at the office......Crap, I need a bigger lot------
I tried to get Dad interested in grabbing this one too, but he's having such a hard time with Mom and his 928 (he's doing the same thing I'm doing with mine--taking the paint off down to the metal and then a repaint) that he has to put a cover on his when he's got it at home.....("it doesn't fit well with the neighborhood")
