I am running Corbeau Forza seats in my car right now. The Forzas replaced some cheap aftermarket seats that were adjustable. While autocrossing one day the driver's seat went into full recline during one of the runs. The adjustment mechanism failed causing the seat to look more like a surfboard from the side view. I would never again recommend a cheap aftermarket seat to anyone. Just my two cents. Joe

I've been looking into seat options for a bit too and have come to the same conclusion as the "don't go cheap" crowd. Too much at stake to buy a cheap seat, plus I've read reviews where they don't hold up and get uncomfortable after too long.

I think an excellent buy is the Corbeau A4 seat. I'll be picking up one (maybe two) once I get a bit of maint done on my S4.

Leo-

be very selective in your seat search.

if you are ever going to track the car, there are some restrictions that PCA and others have instituted, like belt slotting. no more belts over the seat (unless you're still using the stock belts--maybe even that's changed), must go thru the seat (slots), etc...see sanctioning bodies for specifics.

seat belts/harnesses are another story as well.

Thanks Russ,

Good advice. I probably will track the car at some time in it's life. Better get it right the first time!

Excellent point.

The A4's I plan to get are strickly for daily driving, not track days, DE's, racing etc.

If I do anything on the track, I will run a fixed back racing seat that is fully certified. The difference in feel of the car is unbelievable with a fixed back, its great. I have this old Sparco that Chuck Briggs gave me as a sort of test seat fit, but I'll be updating that when I head out on the track (some day).

Some will not allow reclining seats without a seat back support. Others will not allow reclining seats at all in race groups. They're even getting strict about fixed seats. FIA seats don't expire, but you need a seat back support if they are over 5 years old.
