Question Auto trans value

Anyone know what my '87 auto trans is worth? About 87K on it w/mod for 1st gear starts. Worked fine.

Thanks,
Jeff

Apparently, it is worth what someone is willing to pay.

Check ebay for previous (completed) sales of 928 auto transmissions.

Question

I suppose that could be said about anything.

I don't know about you, but I don't find eBay to be a good litmus test for certain things, this being one of them. DR was in agreement with me when I first began the swap. I personally would pay more to someone in the community than to someone possibly not at all familliar with the car, or the history of the trans...

...but thanks.

First gear mod is nice. If the A/T has LSD that's even nicer. But, ultimately it's a used tranny. Most folks would prefer a rebuilt over a used one. As recently as last week an '88 S4 tranny fetched no bids on Ebay. Starting price was $500 and no reserve.

When I was in your situation I ended up selling the valve body and LSD differential separately. I still have the left over tranny and a non-LSD diff that was given to me. That's only good as a core for folks that want to go from the 3 speed to a 4 speed automatic.

Isn’t...

"Starting price was $500 and no reserve"
