Post My Naked Block...

I tore the entire block down this weekend....messy job. The hardest part was de-studding the block for the NiCom plating process. Those studs did not want to give in! I had one in particular that was really tight. I double nutted all of them to get them out. Could not find Rost-Off here, so Ihad to settle for something less...but not WD-40

There really is a lot of engineering in these old engines. I am amazed at the elegance of the design. It really is wonderful. The bottom end looks very well designed and constructed. Too bad they never used forged pistons in these motors.

The words de-studding and naked in the same post are probably bad news...

Hopefully, USCHROME is doing the work...they have done work for us.

Watch out for hi sulpher fuels when using NiSiCarbide coatings on 390 bores and keep the piston to bore clearances to spec.
