I was going to say mine is going to be done 1st but the body shop is really dragging their feet... so you might even get yours done 1st..... if you can talk your guy into it work the panels out a bit before its prepped for paint... then you can get 18x12's with 335's on the back.
The body work should be done by the end of the month, it is finally in the rotation and being worked on.

Wow you're not kidding, that's some serious surgery!
Curious.....by the looks of it there is nothing which keeps dirt, water etc from making it's way right up to the rear window is there??? Is everything sealed back there?

I didn't realize dirt/water can just work it's way up into the frame. This does explain why rust can occur around the rear window sill, all it takes is a chip, scratch or incorrect bodywork to get it started.

IIRC Rob(Blownbeast) in Socal had his fenders/arches widened and is running 335s in the back. He didnt have gts quarters welded on either....had a good body guy pull and form the stock steel to shape. Looks fantastic as well.

I have never been to a road race, but we do go to some events when they are running this stuff.

I am sure that all of this work will do nothing but devalue the car, but it is what I want to do.
There will not be many like it out there.

Seam sealer is what is used to keep water out. Most of the rust you see around the windows does not from the inside. The rust is on the surface.
Urethane based seam sealer will be very effective for use as an undercoating. It's not porous, and it doesn't soak up water like the asphalt based ****. Aside from spraying a potent solvent like urethane reducer on it, there isn't much that will get through it.

I think this is what they mean when they say "rust free Southern car"
I will post some of the left side when they get them off.

Larry, here is what your quarter looks like if you want it.

Greg,
did you think about pressure washing the inner fender areas before you peeled the quarters off....?
or, now that you've got them off, how about getting rid of all of that dirt in there? should be pretty easy to get to now.
just a thought.......
more pictures please------
lookin' good-
