Post Project "Sand Shark"

I just purchased an 84 shark(Sand Shark)from california and I don't believe the low end performance was what it should have been. Could the emissions set up be robbing my power? How can I fix this problem?

Zandramus is my older brother. I have now code named his shark LEMON SHARK. o

We've all read the posts from your brother - and are certainly glad you made it in one piece! Welcome to the club...

From the pictures and desription - it sounds like you might have really lucked out. Ofter times, the details indicate a well taken care of car.

"Low end power" could mean a lot of things to a lot of people. If you mean off the line performance, a 928 doesn't really compete there.

Try to be more specific in your description, if you can. I'm sure the wrenchs in the bunch will come forward with tons of suggestions.

One thing I will suggest - that has nothing to do with performance - is for you to add a signature to your profile. Include the year of your car. That way, when you ask questions, you won't have to remember to include that in the question.

Best of luck!

Hmm.

Hmm lets see.

Carcharias taurus) -- The Sand Shark likes to spend time in the bays and the larger ones are usually caught in the upper parts of our bays.

Most sand sharks are found from Cape Cod south, but they aren't found in great numbers below the Delaware Bay.

The sand shark's mouthful of teeth can send chills through you. Still, this is not a man-eater. Instead, it is somewhat sluggish and lives on the bottom of the sea or close to it.

The lemon shark's back is deep yellow (giving it its name); its belly is off-white. It is requiem shark that is fairly common along the southeast coast of the USA.

SIZE
Lemon sharks average 8-10 feet (2.45-3.1 m) long. The largest recorded catch was 12 feet long.

DIET AND FEEDING HABITS
It eats mostly fish (including other sharks ( Sand sharks no doubt )), but will also eats mollusks and crustaceans.

Lemon sharks have been known to attack people. ( Particularly Brothers who dont know their place) <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

Well, an easy way to compare, is to DRIVE YOUR BROTHER'S CAR!

Noooooooooo!!!

But seriously, this is the best way for a new 928 owner to see if their car is preforming as it should. Same thing with sounds. If you are wondering about some sound, see if other 928's make the same sound...

But in terms of low-end torque, just see if it has tons of power at the top end. If it is slow overall, you may have a problem. But if it is just slow off the line, I am sorry, but that is the nature of the beast... They start out slow, and then they come on strong.

Cool

Normy's recipe for shark:

Coat the fish in olive oil. Then....apply liberally 1. Oregano. 2. Garlic powder [cheap pre-ground stuff] 3. Basil 4. Lemon juice- from fresh squeezed lemons.

-Cook the shark on the grill. High temperatures are best with this fish- but beware...this is a VERY temperamental meat to cook. The difference between a very nice meal and a chunk of rubber on the plate is about 60 seconds! Cook this for 10 minutes per inch of thickness ONLY! Really, soon as it gets opaque white it is READY~

Since this is a very bland meat with an un-seasoned taste that is vaguely lemony, it takes well to nearly any sauce or seasoning. I've tried barbecue sauce [OK, but not really right], and several marinades. My grandmother's "Speedie" recipe of marinading it in garlic/pepper/Italian dressing was equally average, but the best that I've done so far was a simple lemon-butter-dill scheme that seems de rigueur for fish.

Normy!

Ernie's recipe for Porcupine:

1. Place quilled and gutted porcupine in a large pot.
2. Add regular size brick to pot.
3. Bring to boil and simmer until the BRICK is soft.
4. Discard porcupine and eat brick.

Thanks, sorry for not leaving enough info. I solved the problem last night though. When stepping on the gas the car was not dropping into first. Also, it would shift up through the gears to fast and not wind them out. So, I merely tried stomping my foot through the floor. This worked perfectly and the car was very fast. In fact, I smoked my bosses 96 300Z twin turbo.
