On my '89 GT, I lost almost all pod lights and guages as well as speedo, tach etc...Fuse 24 had blown and kept blowing on replacement. On of my interior lights was shorting it out, now all is fixed.

Default Guage Problems

Hi,
I was looking through the archives and see a thread that you started concerning the same problem I am experiencing with my 93 GTS. The car is currently in the dealer with the pod striped down and we are all scratching our heads. We cleaned all the contacts, checked all the grounds and the fuses are fine.
Did you resolve the problem? and if so how.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Roger

That interrmitant stuff often indicates a bad ground. I have had success running a temporary jumper to a known good ground site (something on steel floorpan, door hinge, etc). Better yet, given battery location, you could run directly from negative terminal and split if necessary to component(s), fuse block, etc. Have gone through this multiple times with cars, trucks, boats, etc.

Even if it doesn't fix, it's a quick rule-out. Just don't go after more than one thing at a time. Multiple variables can lead to more confusion, not less.

Good Luck!

Check and see if the fuse (s) is/are tight in the fuse holder. Some of my fuses seem loose, so I bend a ~ in the legs so they make good connection with the contacts in the CEP.
