The reason I think that they ARE Sport Seats is that they have the same control-switches as mine, which is "fore and aft elevation", only. There isn't a great deal of apparent visual difference between regular seats and Sport Seats.
If there was a way to be absolutely certain that these were Regular seats, I'd want them!! Anybody got an absolute determination method?

Brendan provided the answer, guys. Here is a pic of my seats. Note the HUGE difference in side-bolster.

Now, please don't snipe these e-bay seats from me!!

At 6'2" and 225, I find the SportSeats too narrow at the hips. My legs eventually go to sleep from the pressure on the gtr trochanters. Also, the larger bolsters "hug" my spare tire just a bit too intimately!!
Zandramus... My seats are Grey-beige and show typocal wear for a '86 car with 75k miles. They are presentable enough except that the drivers-side bolster is worn through. The local upscale upholstery shop suggested that it would take $300.00 Canadian to effect an appropriate repair. I can get pics if you are still interested.
Have you considered other brands of seat?

Brian,
My own experience is just the opposite. I'm 6'3" , 235 and my first 928 was an '82 5 spd w sport seats. My '88 5 spd has the 'comfort' seats w all the adjustments and I actually thought the sport seats were more comfortable on long trips even though they were 'manual'. Different strokes I guess.
I think I recall reading that all sport seats are manual adjustment (just back/forward and a **** for the back position...are yours?

Jim:
Mine have power lift of the seat base. One switch for fore, and one switch for aft. This also provides for seat height adjustment if used together.
Slide fore and aft is manual, and seatback tilt-angle is manual.

Actually, I'm a bone kinda guy...... a chiropractor, and totally a mere mortal.
I was going to say "hip bones" but those are usually what one hangs his belt on, and they are actually part of the pelvis (iliac crests). The "hip bones" I referred to are part of the thigh bone, just outboard of the ball-and-socket of the hip joint.........
and I thought 928 nomenclature was obtuse!!

Let's see:
Foot bone connected to the leg bone, leg bone connected to the hip bone, the hip bone connected to the iliac crests...
I don't know, it just doesn't have the same ring to it.
dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones

When one has a hip replacement the Bone cracker saws off the neck of the femur, which contains the greater trochanter.
