radio question
Hey! I got my radio out of my stock 82. Well, there it a a weird grey wire that looks like the antenna, but it goes to an odd connector into a silver box behind the radio. It is all stock. What it the silver box the radio connects to in the rear of it? Which wires are the antenna and speaker wires? Thanks!

I have a 87 auto so were different but I remember seeing in a post that this might be an alarm wire if so equiped. <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" />

If it goes to the anti-theft, a disconnect will tell you in a hurry. Otherwise if it is the hot lead it goes to a fuse then the suppressor. Then again if it is a coaxial cable, it likely goes to the antennae. 4 speaker wires out to balance/fader: black, black/red, black, black/red. Out of balance/fader: green, brown (ground on Porsche), brown, black, black/white, brown/white, brown/white, grenn/white.
Never looked in an '82, this is just from the wiring schematic.
