Oil leak from rubber hose???
Since purchasing my shark 18 months ago, I have had some very minor oil stains on the garage floor. Nothing serious and I’m sure any competent 928 wrench along with a loan from Bill Gates would solve the problem post haste. Still waiting for Bill to return my calls. In the interim, I put cardboard on the garage floor. Below the oil filler cap there are three hoses. The second one down is clearly a radiator hose. I have noticed that the hose directly below the radiator hose is always very oily while those around it are not. I am wondering if this hose has something to do with the oil system or if this is something some quirky German engineering a la a “self lubricating hose.” BTW, is there really an effective stop leak product that I might try? Thanks in advance.

PS I have a good pic of the hose I could email, but can't figure out how to insert it in the post!

Patrick,
One might suspect one of the hoses in the 'V' of the engine that lies under the air box and tubes has a loose clamp on it. To check this is a DIY fix, not hard at all. If I am not mistaken the original hose clamps on the tube seals are 6mm.
How does the shark run? Since you purchased the shark have you checked for vac leaks? The reason I am asking this if you remove the tubes to check the hose connections you might as well inspect your vac lines. Ensure that they are not brittle from heat, the rubbers are not stretched causing leaks, etc...
