I just called the seller, he says he sold it to his friend for 7k even though it was at 8,100 on ebay. I gave my name and number and told him I would buy it if his friend backed out. At that price, I can pull the engine if its dead.

That was me who had the $7000 bid in. Just figured I'd take a shot.

No he said he actually SOLD it, not just a bid and to a friend of his.

I wonder if there is a story here or just that this is the one in the barn that the old lady forgot about. . .

The whole story smells! When was the last time you saw a used car salesman "give away" a serious profit?

They don't...regardless of it's condition...used car salesmen don't give these things away...mine sure didn't and it still cost me tons to get it right.

Like he doesn't have a blue book sitting in front of him...Hell...he's probably reading this right now...think he bought that house in the photos behind the 928 on dumbness....

Someone should run the VIN# and get a feel for this car. Who knows...under the hood could be a mess....but....the body is still worth $7K

Anyway...this car will eventually surface again one day and we'll know then it's history good or bad.

I noticed that he never ever placed the VIN on E Bay for what it is worth.
