I am just wondering why it seems the huge increase in engine volume that we enjoy does not seem to translate proportionally with the bigger engine. I will say this: Those of you that know the "Terek" super-928, I remember seeing the ads from around 1991-93 in Car & Driver and/or R&T. It was a VERY small ad but I have never forgotten it. The company was called RSC which seemed fortuitus because it's the 3 letters in the middle of "poRSChe". And I remember specifically they advertised that along with the body kit their "1st" stage engine mods would net 700 hp and then suggested that they could actually accomplish 1100 hp. Now you can say that my memory is faulty, but I can tell you with all sincerity that when I was 15 I was as HUGE 928 fan. I swear to you that my memory of this is accurate and now that i've seen Terek's car here in Rennlist it only confirms my memory of what the car looked like in the advertisement. I would LOVE to hear from anyone who knows about this company and possibly shed some light on the people who were involved (I'm assuming they were REAL 928 fans) and explain how they could advertise "700-1100 hp" in these cars 16 years ago.
Be careful....you'll start another argument about which dyno is better (which one did they use, etc...)------that'll go on forever......

Candleman, ask Tarek about his superwidebody. He knows a tremendous amount about the bodies that were made and some about the company. Supposedly the molds still exist, but nobody knows where.

BTW, the performance mods RSC claimed were BS. Tarek's car is covered with fake scoops and vents that do nothing. There wasn't even an opening in the front of the body for radiator cooling when he bought it.

I guess I was more or less insinuating that a power adder should be self-contained and self-sustaining to be considered part of the car/engine. My Bad!!!!

I have a copy of an ad on my web site from the April 1993 DuPont Registry that
may be what your talking about:

I've heard from others that they were not able to deliver what was advertized, but
have no first hand info about them.

Is this 10 liter motor a 928 one? Good lord, I can't see how that could be.

A 10.9L V8.......or 664 cubic inches.....there is NO way to make a 928 motor that big....it would have to be a racing pushrod V8, maybe a Marine V8 motor....

However you don't need that much displacement (& weight) to make over 1000...chevy says the LSX small block (with 6 bolt heads) can make up to 2500hp at 45psi.....but it will go over 500 cubic inches too

10.9 liters? Easy just take two 5.4 liter engines, put one in the front and one in the back and....presto 10.9 liters (or close to anyway)

Actually I remember a thread a while back about some 928ers in Australia that claimed to have done just that. They even had some great photochopped pictures.

IIRC 10.9L is about the size of the largest Hemi crate engine available.

I think this was part of the plan...."Racing engines for every form of auto racing from off-road trucks, to high endurance Rally cars, to sports car racing. Also for marine and aircraft ...
www.falconerengines.com/ - 2k - Cached - Similar pages The V-12 is only about $65,000

That falconer V12 is pretty sweet......basically a small block + 50%......so a 350...+ 175 for a nice 525cubic inch.... Or up to 640 or so when bored out.....
