Ed,
Don't get excited. Just follow the board down and everything I sad gets mentioned.(tire wear, springs, ac, etc.Come to think of it, wy did the aircooled outlived the 924, 944, 951, 968, 928?

I'm not so sure that the "air cooled" did out-live the "water cooled" Porsche. The 996 is a hybrid 911 with a water cooled engine. In some respects, it even looks like a 928.
From the looks of things, Porsche will not be making "air cooled" engines ever again. Their current and anticipated future model line up are ALL "water cooled". The ones expected to be their next generation of racers are likely to be "V10" and/or "V8". They may even wind up with the engine up front.

Pete you get the same statement as those ****** on the 996 board. You guys think that 911s can run faster, jump higher, dive deeper and come up drier. Anyone who disagrees is a heretic. Does slamming 928s make your tired 911 feel stronger?
