Low miles '78 manual on Craigslist

The owner called me last Thursday to tell me the buyer backed-out after an inspection revealed that the front-end had been repaired at one time.
I called the shop where the inspection was done and the guy I talked to told me it was a great car, that the front-end repair looked like a good job, and that he believed it was the original 23k on the car because the interior is so perfect.
I called the owner back on Saturday and he said the buyer is back in again, but he'll give me first dibs if I give him a decision today.
I've decided not to go for it, so, if you want it, I'd give him (Chris) a call asap.

Just want to add; There are two reasons I'm not buying this car:
1. It's brown.
2. The history is fishy. 23k miles on a car that needs paint ???. body work: front-end and r.left quarter panel ???
