Question Glove box switch

I have a white square switch on the right had side of the glove box.
I reached around and it not just a cheap radio shack item which leads me to believe that it may be important.

With the car running I pushed it and I heard a click of a relay but nothing happend and I could not duplicate it again.

Anyone have any ideas on what this switch does?

Sorry about that. The car is an 84 5spd us version.
there is a little vent next to it.

I was hoping that this was one of those porsche common knowledge things.

I will try to take some pics and post them.

Looking at it more closely the switch is not factory. I will follow the wiring and update. Also emailed the previous owner.

Or a possibly a hatch release, instead of those floor-mount pull switches?

It's the optional ejection seat switch, just ask the wife to get the map out of the glove box when she complains too much about being lost....
