You mean, you'll leave the helicopter at home?

I look forward to meeting you there! (and everybody else who I haven't met in person, yet)

I WISH!!! Actually I meant NOT trailering it up there. I haven't got the nerve to tell the wife yet, which means I don't know if she is going to go or not. Hell, i'd walk if i had to.

Dang, Father's day again.
Yes, and it's absolutely fitting!

Good to hear Tim, it's never too early to get the SD gang motivated!

This lands on my birthday, Father's Day, and our anniversary. What are the chances K will want to do a car trip to Tahoe? I'll need to get just the right moment to plant the seeds of suggestion on this. Plus there will need to be a golf course nearby. I have some free rental car days for her too. There's hope!

Kevin-- you can shoot a more current version of that Mono Lake picture.

Jury is out on the "best" route from SoCal. I have some friends in Mammoth Lakes to visit, but I really like the Hwy 50 run from the Sac'to side to the south end of the lake. Might be a big loop, maybe including a car tour back down through Yosemite Valley on the way back. I'm pretty sure I've lost some hair since the picture on the wall at the Bishop CHP office was taken; Some of those officers have gotten so fat and bald they won't recognize me.

Dr., best route out is 15 to 395, that way you get to meet your old Buds!

A car tour of Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia is really in order, I haven't been back there in 30yrs.

Oh my gosh!!!! Nicole, Bill and possibly Dr Bob, be still my quivering heart. I'll call the press

Lot of stuff for the spouse to do up here. Golf courses, hiking, shopping, spa treatments (right Brian and Dave!) gambling, resting, tram rides to the top of a mountain or just walking along the lake.

Hope you, Bill and the regulars make it this year Kevin, I hear ya and I know that getting the So Cal'ers orginized and moving is kind of like herding cats! I think we had more Intermountain folks last year than So Cal folks.

No matter what, we'll likely stay in Mammoth for at least one night on the way up or back. Probably at a hotel in town. That opens up opportunities for day trips to Yosemite. Kings Canyon and Sequoia are a bit west on the other side of the mountains. It's a long tour from Mammoth through all the parks in one day and then a drive home to Glendale. Add a couple hours to that for the SD group.

Anybody interested in an "extra" day for touring in either the eastern or western Sierra parks on the way up or back? There's really no shortage of fun-drive routes along the way.

That's gonna leave a mark.

Hehe... Dr., the SD group is just a little familiar with how to clock additional travel time to Tahoe, let's get Mr. Bill online...

BTW, local time is 9:28, I type slow.

Agree with you Dr. Bob about the U.S. 50 up the western side, really a pretty drive. From here that would require a rather boring & ugly drive up I-5. Bright side to that would be meeting up with the SSS gang!

It sure would be nice to make a straight shot up there this year without all of the drama of the last two times I have attended! Hopefully Ron V., IB Kevin and I will have any and all issues ironed out PRIOR to the next trip. I think we all need to get together for a preventative maintenance tech session 2-4 weeks ahead of time.

Oh, by the way, count Amy and I in!!
