Charlie Car Finds Home in DFW
Well after a 3 year search, numerous ones that "got away", bad timing, and even an identicle car to this one that turned out to be wrecked after I sent out a deposit, the Charlie Car found it's home back here in DFW Land!!
Flew to Birmingham at Crack :30 on Sat. with my dad and we headed over to Atlanta and Hennessey Porsche for the PPI on the Recomendation of Doc Kim here in the DFW club. Kim had both her 928s checked out by Jack, a 928 owner and mechanic at that dealership. Great Guy!! Came in on his day off and looked over the car stem to stern. It felt great when he said, "Man, this is a clean car, ya done good!" We took care of business at the dealership and then headed back to Atlanta. Took a stop by Talladega Motor Speedway on the way back and had a great time getting to know the car on the way back to Birmingham. Relaxed that night watching the NY/Pats game and the Penn St/AM games drinking beer and thinking about the big drive back to DFW the next day.
Sunday started out nasty with cruddy weather all the way to Merridian Mississippi. After that it was great weather and smoothe sailing all the way back to DFW! As My dad and I took turns driving I started making my mental list of things that needed to be tweaked, upgraded, fixed, on the car and the infamous word of Roger Tyson started ringing in my head. "It's a 14 year old car, it won't be perfect, just get in it and drive it!!" So I shut the mental list off. For Now!
All I can say is WOW! I love my 79, but this is a different kind of car! The same, but different somehow. It feels heavier, no doubt about it. Much, Much more powerful!! Different. But I still Love my 79. Guess it's a little like having
kids!
I'll send some pics to Roger to post as I don't have time to resize, etc. Heading to Houston this morn. Happy New Year to everyone out there!!

Congrats Chuck and have fun with you new ride. I'm off to Alan in a minute. I'm staying with my in-laws right now in Tempe. Alan promised me a preview of his 928 electrics book, sounds interesting
All types of Porsches are different animals. Just like my old 911 it has not even half the power of my GTS. But it still fun due to it's simplicity...

WOO-HOOO! It's Official -- SILVER BULIT II Arrives!
Hey Chuck!
Congrats & all the best to you & your new ride!
Happy you got to see Jack & all went well there...
Yes, he is a great guy, indeed! (I wouldn't steer you wrong!)
Got your VM a few days later -- when I came back within 'roaming range' of my phone again...
If I make it back in town -- I look forward to seeing you & 'Silver Bulit II' on Saturday!
Warmest of wishes to you & yours for a healthy, happy & prosperous '08!
Here's to LOTS of time behind the wheel!

I own a shop in the Atlanta area and work on a few of these cars, there is NOBODY in this area that works on these cars that I would recommend over Jack, he da man.
