Thanks to all who took the time to post. I think it is because you don't have to see the the tears in my eyes as I read each post that makes this 928 family so important to me.
My year was horrible on many fronts, but i knew Lyle's was worse than I would wish on my worst enemy. It makes me grateful to have found this little patch of misfits like me.LOL
Here's to a better 2008, may we find the time to respect and honour the ones we love.

Very sorry for you loss Rod, my heartfelt condolances.
Way way too early for your friend to pass away, and a poignant reminder not to put things off for too long; we never know how much time we have here.

This doesn't seem to be the best week for friends and families of 928 owners. Today, I got notice that the mother of a good friend and fellow 928-owner had passed.

Im sorry for your loss. I know what your going through. I lost my best friend from High School as well. No words can express. You will always carry the memories and he will live on in your heart.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I lost a very good friend that I work with last Thursday.... he was a great person, loving father, and a fellow Porsche enthusiest as well. He had several 914's as well as several Jag's.... including a e type.... Its been less than a week..... and I feel a huge emptyness in my heart when I think about him being gone.
Don't take one single day for granted..... nor your friends, families or what ever it is that you value. there are no garantee's.

Even though I was aware he was going to pass, nothing prepares you when they are gone so young. You always think, well I can see them later. unfortunately that is not always true.
This is the first person that I was close to in age and emotion, that has passed and it definitely hurts.
Again, thanks so very much for all your compassion and good wishes.
Without Lyle, most likely I wouldn't even know this place existed. He was the one to turn me on to 928's.
