Thumbs up rob's 928GT

Thanks for the info. I am coming out sat. and get to see it sun. I feel that we will get along together; Looking forward to a long relationship with this beauty.
After spending 2 hours on-site I saw the wisdom of joining-up.
Time to pack the valentine one, I hope to fly low on the way home. The garage is cleaned and ready.
Thanks all Jerry

I have way too many cars, but there is something about a guy jumping on an airplane to go pick up a new (to him) Shark that just makes me green with envy.

He's not going to get enough driving in though......I seem to remember getting off a plane almost two years ago in Phoenix, immediately consumating the deal, and leaving at 4:00am the next morning to drive from Scottsdale to Dallas in a day! I suggest he go past Tucson 1/2 way to Phx, and then turn around for home. Only then, can the comfort and sophistication of the 928 as a GT car on the highway can be fully appreciated.

Actually I found the 04 to be lazy, even in sport mode. I guess too many years of Playstation had me wanting rifle-bolt shifts. It also acted like an automatic it some ways, starting from rest and compared to normal mode I could shift a truck faster. That's not to say they can't be good. I've driven a 360 F1 and it seemed to work a lot better, but maybe that was just me willing to work the car harder. Still a *very* nice car and congratulations!

And Jerry, congratulations on getting a beautiful 928. They are great cars too.

Car is still available. Jerry liked the car but decided that it wasn't his dream car. I think it may have been his first ride in a 928 and the experience was not what he was looking for. Super nice guy, hopefully he will find the right ride for himself.

As an aside, my Cobra replica sold today on E-Bay for more than the Buy-it-Now price. All the action happens in the last minute of the auction and once the reserve it hit the BIN price is no longer available.

Darn, your GT looks like a really nice example. You are correct about last minute bidders as you have experienced. I too have had the same experience with eBay selling cars. Good luck with the Maserati, I actually had money on a Granturismo but decided not to take it. Awesome cars though.

Well, I say Jerry missed about the best of the 928 ever built. Unless he wants to go to a GTS and plunk down about $20k more, it was a decision he'll regret.

Rob, sorry to see you leaving the fold. Don't be a stranger in the 928 forum. Great car.

I've got inside info about another nice shark, non-GT, maybe coming up for sale....is eBay viewed as the best way to sell such a car? I suppose it is potentially the fastest.

I just sold my wife's Jag there, albeit indirectly. I guess, if nothing else, it is a means of advertisement...

(BTW-We did list the Jag on AutoTrader.com, and ALL we got was a bunch of dealers and brokers calling, this was a total waste of time)
