Please say your thrust bearing didn't also go...

Has anybody considered converting to EZ-K in an LH2.2 car? That seems easier and less expensive than an addon box.

You would need the 60 - 2 tooth timing ring flywheel in place of the 100 tooth. The EZ-F and EZ-K plugs are different. More pins on the EZ-K. The MAF voltage would have to be brought into the EZ-K. Maybe other differences, but the wiring changes would be possible. You would need the two knock sensor setup like the S4 has. That may not be possible with the earlier intake.

With the sharktuner, can the EZ-K be programmed to run on a 100 tooth flywheel?

Theoretically the ST might be modified to permit this, but not worth the time for a one-off.....

Nope. Bottom end of my motor is solid.
I had an 89 TBF motor that I purchased for the heads. These are currently getting a second valve job in a year

Maybe I should add a knock sensor system to the race motor to see if I can cut down on the $6.50 a gallon race fuel. Might pay for itself in one weekend!

The threaded one (circled in red) is a little longer than the unthreaded one (circled in yellow). I would like to put my knock sensor in the middle of the V (where the one circled in yellow is now) but I'm concerned about interference with the longer bushing inside the engine. Has anybody ever done this?

S4-up have three threaded plugs per engine?

These are the knock sensor plugs, with a 8mm threaded hole versus 6mm for the earlier rubber bushing.

Thanks for the reply Porken

As you can see by this picture, my bushing is a lot longer than the 87 and up.

Does anyone have 2 of the 87 and up bushings they could sell to me?

I am thinking about installing a Turbo XS Universal Knock Lite to my Bosch knock sensor. At least I will be able to tell if I have a problem with knock. It seems too expensive and complicated to tie in the Bosch knock sensor to a computer that retards a cylinder. Any opinions appreciated.

Thanks

I got one of those, but I don't look at it much, so I put it in the ashtray...

Pizza,

I put my knock sensor in the middle one whe I installed my vampire unit.

Works great in this location. I'm running 10 pounds of boost and have 4 years of DE and now Instructing at several different road courses.

And how expensive is it to rebuild a motor?

IIRR they are not available from anywhere as new part and there isn't even known part number for them.
