Hey, anyone out there live around Detroit, MI want to meet up and talk 928's? I can't seem to find anyone in the surrounding area with one. Count me in! I'd like to suggest that we do something similar to what the Chicago guys do and start a Motor City Beer Night. Since the Motor City is quite large I would suggest we have two locations and alternate between them. For the west side, I would suggest some place like Champs in Livonia/Novi on Hagarty Rd between 7 & 8 mile. SOmeone on the East side needs to suggest a place over there. How about the 1st Thursday of each month? Say... 7:30 pm? This way, you can still have dinner with the family, but if you want to go straight there after work you can get decent food.

So to summarize:
The innaugural Motor City Beer Night will be:
Day: Thursday, September 5
Where: Champs in Livonia
Time: 7:30 pm (ish)
All are welcome (928 owner or not)!

Followed by
Day: Thursday, October 3
Where: TBD (East SIDE)
Time: 7:30 pm (ish)

Sounds great. I will be there, probably without my shark. Depends on suspension woes, and the body shop.

Maybe we can put together a list of phone numbers, and maybe what type of repairs everyone is confident in doing, or good shops they deal with for certain type of repairs and such.

Was curious for the Detroit area, does anyone know of a good body shop?

A get together sounds GREAT to me. We ought to have a picnic in a park somewhere for everyone to meet for the first time. After that, anything goes. I'm sure there are a number of us who would love the opportunity just to compare cars to see what's "normal" and what isn't. After the Woodward Cruise last week, I've got so many ideas I don't know where to start!

Hey, good news, just got togehter with Big Dave. We zip tied his heater valve to reduce interior temps and fixed some vac leaks. I just did this on my car so it was a no brainer for me to do. I plan to go to Dozers house Sunday and hope to fix or figure out his rear suspension problems. If anyone else needs help, send me an email = 928porsche@comcast.net . I talked to Doz about your shift lights....he's got a bunch of possible culprits for you to check.

 

I was out playing today! Sorry for not following so closely. A picnic is fine, but I doubt I'd be able to join. I'm on Vaca for the next week, and then back to work. (I may not even be able to make the first meeting, but I'll try!)

Other than that, I'd say where something that say 928 or have a little sign that says 928 or have the hostest page any 928's in the bar to find each other. It's not rocket science, just fun.
